Jonathon Conant is a facilitator, artist, and aerial pioneer whose work bridges human development, performance, and community building. Early in his career he supported people navigating severe mental illness, trauma, addiction, and brain injury, experience that shaped his lifelong interest in how people heal and thrive. He later specialized in conflict resolution and nonviolent communication, training and leading counseling teams for large communities.
Alongside that path, Jonathon pursued the arts—writing and recording music, running studios, and performing on stage—before discovering the flying trapeze in mid-life. When he couldn’t find a place to train at home, he built one, eventually co-founding Trapeze School New York and helping expand it to multiple cities across the United States. His programs introduced thousands to flight and appeared widely in the press and on television. Today, Jonathon and his wife, aerial star Christine Van Loo, split their time between creating, performing, and shaping Airborne Arts at Aerial Avalon—a retreat and training center in the mountains of southwest Costa Rica—where they share the magic of aerial and flying trapeze with students from around the world.
